Review: Made

Made by J.M. Darhower

Synopsis:

Corrado Moretti.

The world knows the notorious Kevlar Killer, but few have ever seen what lies beneath his armor. The abused child. The neglected teenager. The broken man. He always did whatever he had to do in order to survive.

It's kill or be killed.

Throughout his life, he has been there in the shadows, a witness to everything from beginning to end. Bound by loyalty and honor, there's only one thing he would sacrifice it all for: family.

Never get close. Never get attached. It's a lesson that has been brutally pounded into him since childhood, but they're words the DeMarcos make it difficult for him to follow. Through them he finds love and grieves loss, realizing the world isn't quite as black and white as it's made out to be.

Made.

My Rating:

5++++ STARS

My Review:

“Everyone was good at something. Some people painted. Others played music. Corrado just happened to be good at murder. He accepted that. Embraced it. That was who he was. The Kevlar Killer.”

It was my first book by J.M Darhower but now i guess i am gonna dig and find every other book of hers and read all of them within a month for sure !!
I am such a big fan of hers now !! This novel i must say, it felt like the author had poured her heart out in that story.

"Your light is the only thing in this world not tainted by my darkness."

It was truly incredible.
Beautiful, angry, possessive, raw, dark and gritty

It was a bit lengthy but never losing my interest, very captivating.
I loved Corrado as much as i loved Celia :) I felt bad for her that Corrado didn't fulfill her only wish and the way she felt around her nephews.

Still,it was a very beautiful story. And my heart ached to read the last words of the book. Corrado's whole life unfolds in front of us. It was phenomenal the way author plotted all the events of his life.

"What made you this way?"

"Sweetheart, I wouldn't even know where to begin."

Recommended to everyone.

My Review:

I absolutely loved loved loved this book. Kirsty Moseley has done a fabulous job. ! I have read her book "The boy who sneaks in my bedroom window" as well, and i did like it too, but this one was something beyond 'par excellence' :)
I was so excited to get my hands on this book, I just straightaway dived into it as soon as i got one and finished it within 24 hours. yeah it was such a page turner
I loved the characters a lot. Emma & Carson. Actually, you know what, um i liked Emma and i LOVED Carson :P

The story was very well written. I personally liked it and i guess that's all that matters.

Only one man got behind my defenses. Only one man was allowed to touch me. Only one man was allowed to make me feel like I was in heaven. Carson Matthews.

Emma was a lap dancer, yet a sweet, innocent struggler woman. I really liked her character and the chemistry between Carson & her, but in the end at some points I felt angry at her but may be that was the part of story as she was the one going through all that stuff. so, nevermind.!

Carson was a hot sexy MotoGP racing driving. I loved his character, his caring nature, the way he gave importance to Emma and stood firm for her. Near the very end, he showed his negative side as well,

This was all I was to him. A body, nothing more. Something for him to get his kicks with, just like he did with hundreds of other girls.

but i think he was truly justified for his behavior, after all he still cared & loved her. !!

"POLES APART" was a great read. I would recommend it to everyone :)

God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo

 GOD-SHAPED HOLE by Tiffanie DeBartolo

Synopsis:

When I was twelve, a fortune teller told me that my one true love would die young and leave me all alone.
Everyone said she was a fraud, that she was just making it up.
I'd really like to know why the hell a person would make up a thing like that.

Written with the snap, glitter and wit of The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing, God-Shaped Hole is a memorable, poignant love story that will leave you weeping with laughter. It is told in the wry, vulnerable voice of Beatrice "Trixie" Jordan who replies to a personal ad, "If your intentions are pure I am seeking a friend for the end of the world."

In doing so, she meets Jacob Grace, a charming, effervescent thirty-something writer, a free spirit who is a passionate seeker of life. He possesses his own turn of phrase and ways of thinking and feeling that dissonantly harmonize with Trixie's off-center vision as they roller coaster through the joys and furies of their wrenching romance. Along the way they try to come to terms with the hurt brought about by their distant fathers who, in different ways, forsook them.

This story will prove so touching you will rush to share it with a friend or loved one or even a stranger.

My Review:

What a beautiful read it was..!! HUHH... awesome. simply awesome. It was sooo emotional so captivating. It kept me up all night long and i finished it at 5a.m. Now that proves IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE BOOK!!

Jacob and Trixie meet by an ad, Yes, a newspaper ad. Jacob publishes it, and Trixie answers it.

If your intentions are pure,
I'm seeking a friend
for the end
of the world

These are the words of the Ad, and when a book starts with such a paragraph, then....You know it is worth it !!

“It’s easy to plant a seed and sprinkle it with water, but once the sun scorches the ground, and the earth soaks up all the moisture, you’re left with nothing but a thirsty little flower trying desperately to make it out of the dirt.”

“And no matter what anybody says about grief, and about time healing all wounds, the truth is, there are certain sorrows that never fade away until the heart stops beating and the last breath is taken.”

The writer has, no doubt, done an incredible job. It is recommended to everyone who needs a great read with loads of emotion along. It made me cry real bad. I was touched. It was worth a read.

“You wanna know how to make God laugh?”
“Tell him your plans.”

This is a Sad book, this is a depressing book, this is a heart-wrenching book, but don't let these remarks make you give up on this book. It is beautifully-paifully-heart breaking kind of book. You'll love it for sure. !

"A soul never truly loses hope until hope has turned to ashes, or has been buried six feet underground.”

AAH I loved it.
